Muffy is an internationally known driver, clinician and judge. She has competed successfully in CDE's and pleasure shows both here and abroad. She is an excellent instructor with a knack for making difficult concepts seem easy and will make you feel at ease from the moment you meet her. To learn more about Muffy, visit her website at www.muffyseaton.com.

Attached you should find information about the event. We already have a few entries so please send me your entry as soon as possible. Also, if you plan to come and need a motel,  please note that you need to make reservations as soon as possible. We have a huge sporting event that weekend which sells out the motels. A list of motels that are near the site is listed in the information.

Many thanks to Al & Pat Seminatore for offering their farm, Aspice Morgans, as the event site. They have an indoor arena, outdoor arena plus hazards and a cones area for the ADT. You can see more about their place at www.aspicemorgans.com

Hope to see you in Roswell this Memorial Day weekend!

Additional note: For those of you who are thinking of coming to the clinic, there's a lodging option not listed on the flyer that's a nice hotel and cheaper than I expected: the Best Western Sally Port Inn has rooms for $72/night/2 people. Phone is 575/622-6430. (note our area code has changed from 505) If anyone has kids tagging along, they might like the indoor pool.

Seems that some of the hotels have hiked their rates since it's a holiday weekend. Sorry!

Another Update: Margo Townsend is sharing what she found out while checking on accomodations for the weekend of the Muffy clinic.  Please feel free to pass this info along to anyone else interested in attending this clinic.

Margo found available rooms at the  Best Western Sally Port Inn, an older but well-rated place at reasonable costs-around $72/night(+ Tax), for two. A bed and breakfast, the Country Club B&B - they are also convenient, still available, and the rate is $99/night for a room for two (plus tax, of about 11%). It appears that the rates of most hotels have been raised during this timeframe for the big sports event.  Hmmmm, just as bad as the hotels here in Albuquerque raising their rates during the balloon fiesta.

We can't stress enough how important it is to make your hotel reservations NOW.  Should you be unable to attend the clinic later, you can always cancel your hotel reservations.  However, if you plan to attend the clinic and don't make your reservations NOW, you may find it difficult to impossible to find a room.  Al has plenty of room for big rigs, RVs, and campers, so if you wish to camp out near your horse, that
is always available and free of charge.  Al does have limited hookups for electricity and water, so you will need to reserve those as soon as
possible, at the rate of $15 per day.

Besides the lessons on Saturday and Monday, there will be an ADT on Sunday with potluck lunch.  Drivers of any level are welcome to compete - all types of equines and carriages are acceptable (as long as they are safe!).  On Saturday night, Rebecca is hosting an informal BBQ at her home so attendees can talk with Muffy 'outside the classroom.'  Muffy may provide commentary on driving videos, etc.  The weekend is packed with learning and fun so it is a weekend not to be missed!!!

Lesson slots are filling fast, so get your entries in as soon as possible!

2/4/2008 Message
Hello all -

We've had a fantastic response to the Muffy Seaton clinic!! Many people
were very quick to send in their entries so all of the lessons with
Muffy are full. But don't despair, since there are still many people
wanting lessons, we have another option...

Janelle Marshall, assistant trainer for Muffy, has offered to come along
to give lessons too. She is an accomplished driver in her own right and
is an excellent instructor as well. I have taken lessons from Janelle
and her training technique and style is just like Muffy's. She has a
calm, quiet manner and you'll love her Australian accent. Here is a
brief bio on her:

Janelle Marshall holds the titles of Australia Champion Pony Pair and
Pony Tandem Driver. She has been driving since she was a child and came
to the US a few years ago to work for Muffy Seaton to further her
international experience. In 2005, she qualified a pair of Dartmoors to
get her on the Aussie team for the World Pony Championship, but was
unable to qualify the English ponies she borrowed for the competition by
less than 1 point. While in England, she competed in several CDE's to
further her experience. Janelle now works with Muffy training people and
ponies outside of Aiken, SC. She is a excellent teacher and trainer, and
can drive and train singles through four-in-hand. She is currently
competing a large Connemara pony that she started training last year. In
his first year of competition, this 4-year-old either won or placed
second at every event he was entered in last summer.  (attached you'll
find a picture of Janelle competing with a pair of German driving
ponies)

Lessons from Janelle will be $85 each and will be available Sat, Sun &
Monday. To sign up for lessons with Janelle, simply complete the clinic
entry form noting that Janelle is your clinician. Please send in your
entries as soon as possible as we need to determine if there is enough
interest to bring Janelle along with Muffy.

Please call or email if you have further questions.
